Both had stark contrasts in ideologies regarding communism and capitalism. Due to their silent strife, other nations such as Korea and Cuba were drawn into the conflict. This eventually pulled the globe in into the conflict, causing decolonization and formation of new nations. While both the Soviet Union and the United States were seeking allies, some nations preferred to remain neutral and nonaligned. Despite their efforts to avoid being drawn into the Cold War, even nonaligned countries felt repercussions.

Are you a soldier or a spy? The class will be divided into 2 groups, NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Each group will send up a person to the counsel. If you answer the question correctly you're a soldier, we salute you. However, if you hesitate or answer incorrectly, you are revealed as a spy and the other team takes you hostage. Once both teams have at least one prisoner, the team that answers correctly can answer a hard question to reclaim one of their own. But if you get it wrong, their prisoner goes free.
